Youth Internship
What is the YALL program?
YALL stands for Youth, Agriculture, Learning, and Leadership. It is a New Roots internship program at the International Rescue Committee for refugee and new American youth to gain experiences and skills related to agriculture, leadership, community service and more!
YALL Internship – Applications due by April 1, 2026.
Activities and Workshops
Students will learn how to garden and grow food for their student-led business
Be a youth leader at the Redwood Farmers Market
Gain leadership and job readiness skills
Volunteer and get involved with the community
Fun! (Cooking together, field trips, exploring the outdoors)
Peer mentoring and team building
Who
YALL Internship - For refugee and new American youth in grades 8-12, or recently graduated from high school.
When
Program runs April through October, 2026. Schedule is subject to change:
Spring:
April 25-May 23 (Saturdays, 9am-1pm)
Summer:
June 2 - Aug 6 (Tuesday and Wednesday 8:30am-12:30pm, Thursday 9am-1pm)
Fall:
Aug 11-Oct 7 (1 day afterschool, 3-4 hours, schedule to be determined)
3 Saturday shifts throughout June-October. 9:30am-3pm

Stipend
Youth are paid a $450 stipend for attending the Spring, Summer, and Fall sessions, with an extra $50 bonus for excellent attendance!
